Had my offside replace by the dealer in Maidstone a bit back, now the bloody nearside has started to do it !
I am going to (when time allows) clean up and paint the rusty hubs, as if they replace the discs/hub bit you can see, it will only go the same or maybe worse !

... seem to be a modern phenomena, which I suspect is as a result of the hub and the brake disc being the same unit, as opposed to say a 14year old car. I was told that rusty discs was very common and he promptly showed me around his lot with brand new and ...

My OH suggested getting them done in a year or twos time - when the discs are ready for replacement anyway :lol: :lol:

How long is your RCZ warranty in UK?

If can change the disc and hub every year under warranty, that is GREAT! :D

YOU mean disc's ;) :lol: aint no rusty hubs not even tarnished calipers on my car mate as i have re-painted the calipers ;) before they became tarnished :thumbup:

... So the car was booked in a few weeks ago where ALL 4, calipers/springs/Hub covers were replaced. The coating on the new do look different, so hope they dont go rusty too. Didn't exepct this to happen on a car at this price....so would have taken it ...

... good look at the calipers and i dont think it is the actual caliper or hub that rusts, i believe its the small clips/springs/pins (brake pad kit) that hold the pads in place that rust and the rusty water then runs onto the calipers and hubs.

When I cleaned mine up I painted the rear ones as FGRob did, but left the front ones as the profile of the disc/hubs on the front made it more awkward to get a good finish. I also found it quite difficult (almost gave up) to remove the wheels as the corrosion ...
